Ministry opportunities that are being planned for Everson Church
1.       THE 3 COLORS OF YOUR SPIRITUALITY SERIES
This Sunday Evening (January 3, 2010) @ 6:00 p.m. we are starting a six weeks series based on Christian Schwarz’s book The 3 Colors of Your Spirituality.  You may be familiar with Schwarz’s name because he is also the author of Natural Church Development.  Following my signature is some additional information about this series.  Everyone who commits to the series will receive a free book, and a reading guide for the series.  Because of the showing of “Come What May,” Jan 17th  (see the next item) and The Pastors and Wives Retreat (Feb. 14th) the last Sunday in this series will be February 21st.)

2.       “COME WHAT MAY” (SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE EVENT)
January 24, 2010 is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, marking the 36th anniversary of the infamous Supreme Court decision (Roe v. Wade) legalizing abortion on demand in the United States.  A movie released earlier this year by Advent Film Group focuses on the issue of the Sanctity of Human Life. The movie is entitled “Come What May.”  Everson Church has purchased the license to publically show this film, and will be showing the movie three times in two different venues.
First Showing will be @ Everson Evangelical Church, January 17, 2010 @ 6 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
Second and third Showings will be at Everson Community Corner (Corner of Brown and Price Streets, Everson, PA, across from the Polish
American Club) @ 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd and 23rd.  (Note: The 22nd is the actual anniversary of the Court’s decision.)
You can view the trailer of the movie @  http://www.comewhatmaythemovie.com/

3.       “HIDDEN KEYS TO LOVING RELATIONSHIPS” SERIES
Also we are doing a video small group series, “Hidden Keys to Loving Relationships” by Gary Smalley on Thursday Evenings @ 7 p.m. at Everson Community Corner.   There are six videos and we will begin Thursday, January 28th.  It is an older series by a goodie.

4.       COUPLES RETREAT – “ESSENTIALS OF MARRIAGE”
In an effort to strengthen the marriages in our church, Everson Church also has recently purchased the three part video series “Essentials of Marriage” recently published by Focus on the Family.  The three parts are “Handle with Care,” “Higher Love,” and “Who Did You Really Marry.”  The intention is to use these videos on a couples retreat.  We were thinking of the Valentine’s Day time, but because of the Pastor’s and Wives Retreat being at that time we need to rethink that.  But I am including this information to see if you have any interest in participating in such a retreat, and to see what time frame might work for you. We are thinking of a weekend venue and are looking at several locations.  (Laurelville Mennonite Camp (not far from here), Roxbury Brethren In Christ Camp (2 hours east), Agape Retreat Camp (2 and ½ hours from here where they hold the Creation festivals) and a couple other places are being considered.)
